Seattle Public Utilities - Environmental Justice and Service Equity
SPU partners with City departments to realize the goals for the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Our goal is to deliver inclusive and equitable services to the communities we serve and to also model those values as part of our employee work culture. SPU equity advisors throughout the utility help support and advance foundational elements of SPU’s race and social justice work including, but not limited to, the following:
Learn how we apply and analyze racial equity in Utility work using a variety of tools and resources.
Understand how we apply racial equity at every level of the utility through staff involvement, training, and leadership.
Learn about the Community Connections program to see how we strengthen the relationship between the Utility and communities of color.
